KASUR: Some armed robbers, who were besieged after a heist, held three people including a woman hostage at gunpoint and successfully made their gateway leaving the police chasing them hopelessly late on Monday night, Geo News reported.
“The dacoits were on the run after sweeping a house clean in Gulberg Colony here when they suddenly found themselves facing a throng of angry local residents. The desperadoes started shooting to scare the mob away, which left one person injured.” the sources said.
Cornered, the felons commandeered an auto-rickshaw and held the passengers hostage in a nearby park, the sources added.
By then a large number of police and citizens had hemmed in the park leaving them no way out but the frustrated robbers threatened to kill the hostages, which eventually forced the cops to allow them a safe passage only to give them a ‘wild-goose chase’ later, said the sources.
According to latest reports the outlaws are still at large with police in hot pursuit.
