LAHORE: In an early morning firing incident in the Shahdara area of Lahore, a former counselor and a candidate in the by-elections was killed before the polling could begin Thursday, Geo News reported.
According to the reports, the ex-counselor named Afzal, who had also campaigned for the by-elections being held today, was gunned down by unknown assailants early morning in the Shahdara area.
Police is further investigating the incident.
It may be mentioned that polling is underway for the by-elections in 41 national and provincial assembly constituencies today.
