KURRAM: A least two people were injured after one of them stepped on a landmine here on Saturday, Geo News reported.
Reportedly, the tragedy came to pass, when two men, who were out collecting firewood, unknowingly waded into a minefield laid by terrorists in Shalwazan area. As they walked further a landmine detonated under one of the victims feet, which mutilated most of his leg.
The other person too suffered serious injuries.
The casualties, identified as Syed Hassan Ali Shah and Syed Karam Ali Shah were shifted to a nearby hospital.
According to hospital sources surgeons had to amputate one of Hassan Ali’s legs to save his life.
The Kurram Agency Political Administration has ordered a probe into the tragic incident.
