KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has expressed “deep concern and sorrow” over rampant incidents of sectarian killings, terming the events part of conspiracy to spark sectarian violence in the city.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the MQM supremo said that the miscreants in Karachi are carrying out target killings for the last few years on the basis of sectarianism. He said that the purpose of such incidents is to create a fight between Shias and Sunnis.

He commended both the communities to repeatedly defeat the conspiracies and not to get their unity affected despite barbaric incidents.

Altaf Hussain said that the enemies of Pakistan and Islam could not bear the absolute harmony in various cities of Sindh including Karachi, adding that the miscreants attacked the prominent personalities of both the sects to ruin the peace in Karachi.
