According to police, the security personnel signaled a car to stop at a checkpoint in the vicinity of Makhdoom Rasheed police station but the culprits opened fire on them and fled from the scene.
Police personnel, however, chased the bandits and had an exchange of fire in Gul Colony area that killed three robbers.
The bodies were shifted to Nishtar Hospital for postmortem.
