KARACHI: Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) activists have ended their sit-in at Shahrah-e-Faisal after successful negotiations with the police, Geo News reported.

The ASWJ was protesting against killing of its spokesman, Maulana Akber Saeed Farooqi, who was gunned down in Karachi on Sunday evening.

The funeral prayers Maulana Akber Saeed Farooqi was offered at the National Highway after which his body will be sent to his native area of Mohmand Agency for burial.

The attendants of the funeral staged a sit-in at the National Highway before prayers while the supporters continued to demonstrate after the prayers at Shahrahe-Faisal.

Speaking to media ASWJ Karachi chief Aurangzeb Farooqi condemned the killing, and said they were ending the sit-in, however, if their demands were not met they would protest again.

He apologized to the citizens for inconvenience they faced, saying that they were compelled to this step.
