Policeman killed in blast and firing at Kohat court

KOHAT: A policeman was martyred and two attackers were killed when a blast occurred at a local court in Kohat followed by gunshots on Monday, Geo News reported.

According to the police, unknown miscreants attacked the DPO office with hand grenades after which an exchange of fire between the police and attackers took place at the district court. As a result of grenade blast and firing, two attackers were killed while a policeman was also martyred.

At least nine persons also sustained injuries during the battle who were shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Sources also told that search operation was underway as there was information regarding the presence of more terrorists at the local court.

Security forces cordoned off the area to prevent irrelevant persons entering the danger zone.
