QUETTA: Supreme Court on Tuesday resumed the hearing of Balochistan law and order case at the Quetta Registry here, Geo News reported.
The apex court on Monday expressed its displeasure over the absence of IGs of FC and police and thereby refused to receive the Frontier Corp report on missing persons and summoned FC IG to appear in person.
Expressing serious annoyance over non-recovery of missing persons, the Chief Justice said the court was not concerned to see some one’s face, if he (FC IG) couldn’t come himself then he should better send the missing persons.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that peace in Balochistan could not be restored unless the borders are fenced and protected. “Our neighboring countries have been working to fence their side of border, but we have left our porous borders open for the smuggling of weapons, which is main cause of the grim law and order situation in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi,” remarked the chief justice.
The CJP expressed these views while hearing the deteriorating law and order in Balochistan. Justice Jawad Idrees Khawaja and Justice Azmat Saeed were also members of the bench.
