Raghavan sees bright future for Pak-India relations

LAHORE: The outgoing Indian high commissioner to Pakistan, TCA Raghvan on Thursday hoped that decades old hostility between Pakistan and India will now turn into cordial relations, as atmosphere of bilateral trust now stands revived.

TCA Raghavan, who completed his tenure as Indian HC to Pakistan, was talking to Geo News before his departure for India through Lahore’s Wagah border.

Raghavan said he glad that Pakistan-India relationship is heading in the direction of improvement. He said he had come to Pakistan with a message for improvement in bilateral ties, adding, today he is returning with satisfaction.

“I am satisfied over my performance as India’s High Commissioner to Pakistan and very happy to see the improving Pak-India relations,” he told Geo News.

Terming the change in the two countries’ attitude as good omen, Raghawan said Indian PM Narendra Modi’s Christmas-day visit to Lahore was part of this process.

He said the Indian High Commission in Pakistan had no knowledge of Modi’s December 25 visit till 11:00 AM and the information of the PM’s intended trip took him by surprise.

Raghvan said he is moving back to India with a wish to come back to Pakistan again.
