Church attack may be conspiracy to sabotage dialogue: Pervez Khattak

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak Tuesday said the possibility cannot be ruled out of the attack on the Kohati Gate Church being a conspiracy to undermine the proposed dialogue (with the Taliban).

Talking to media persons after taking a round of the attacked Church here, the Chief Minister said everyone is aware of where the wave of terrorism originally stemmed from.

He said the possibility of the Church attack being a conspiracy to derail the dialogue process cannot be ruled out. “However, the government will track down the elements perpetrating the terror attacks,” he vowed.

Pervez Khattak assured that the minorities’ communities will be provided every possible protection.

“We had authorized the federal government to hold the dialogue and we will continue to follow its direction,” he said.
