Pervez Rasheed defends power tariff hike decision
ISLAMABAD: Defending the power tariff hike decision, Information Minister Senator Pervez Rasheed has said that they had to take hard decisions in order to end tradition of printing of currency notes in the country, Geo News reported.

Pervez Rasheed said that a portion of subsidy has been withdrawn on using more than 200 units of electricity. He said no change has been made in power tariff for the consumers using less than 200.

The information minister said the government had put the tariff revision plan before the Council of Common Interest (CCI) and the people in the new energy policy.
