PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has banned for Afghanistan roaming of mobile SIMs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Geo News reported.
The court ordered this while hearing suo moto case pertaining to illegal mobile phone SIMs on Wednesday.
Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Dost Muhammad Khosa expressed dissatisfaction over NADRA record and ordered to issue identity cards to Afghan citizens.
The chief justice observed that Afghan mobile SIMs were being used in 90 percent crimes. The SIMs were being sold like ‘potatoes and tomatoes’. He said Pakistan does not need such foreign investors who are tax defaulters and weaken the bases of the country.
Representatives of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), interior ministry, mobile companies and Deputy Attorney General appeared before the court.
