KARACHI: The Met office on Saturday said that Zil-Haj crescent is expected to be sighted in Pakistan on Sunday, Geo News reported.
The Met department said that Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on October 16 if the moon was sighted on Sunday.The Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th day of Zil-Haj.
The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will meet Met Complex on Sunday to decide about the sighting or otherwise of the Zilhaj moon, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, will preside over the meeting. It further stated that the meeting would commence after the Asr prayers.
According to reports, the moon is likely to be seen today in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
