ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday said the government wanted to see peace efforts of Ulema culminating in success, therefore, the wave of terrorist activities must end before the initiation of the dialogue process.
“It will be the first priority of the government to eliminate terrorism through talks,” said Chaudhry Nisar in a statement issued here.
He said the All Parties Conference (APC) also proposed to resolve the issue of terrorism with help of dialogue process, which he added is the option having full backing of the armed forces of Pakistan.
Referring to drone strikes, the Interior Minister reiterated that such attacks are in violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan. “Every possible effort will be made to rid Pakistan of the affliction of drone strikes,” he vowed.
