ISLAMABAD: General Secretary, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Dr. Amjad Wednesday said that Pervez Musharraf has no intention to immediately go out of the country and if he had been interested in striking a deal, he could have done that 6 months ago.
“If Pervez Musharraf’s name was not taken off from the ECL (Exit Control List) and we felt the need to approach the Supreme Court, we will definitely make that move,” he said while addressing a press conference here, hours after the approval of Pervez Musharraf’s bail plea in Nawab Akbar Bugti’s murder case by the apex court.
The General Secretary of APML said that Musharraf had already been granted bails in cases of Benazir Murder, judges’ detention and today in Akbar Bugti’s case as well.
He brushed aside the impression that Pervez Musharraf had struck a deal and he would be heading out of the country. “Neither did he strike any deal nor make any request to visit his ailing mother abroad,” he clarified.
To a question, he said if the Lal Masjid investigation team can record Pervez Musharraf’s statement if it so wishes.
