The match was evenly poised at half time with the score 0-0 but Australia scored a couple of goals in the second half to clinch the match.
Even though this is Pakistan first defeat in the tournament but a draw against Argentina cost them dearly as in another match Argentina beat Malaysia 3-0.
Pakistan will now play for third position against Malaysia on Sunday where as Australia will play Argentina for the title.
