ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that the improvement in judicial system could not be brought about in one stroke, as it was a continuous process, Geo News reported.
CJP said he was playing an important role in ensuring the supremacy of legal, judicial institutions and constitution besides the protection of the rights of the citizens.
Addressing the foundation laying ceremony of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) new building on Shahrah-e-Dastur here, CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that initially a dictator had set up IHC for getting his unconstitutional steps validated and later the court started working from January 3, 2011 after it came into being under the 18th Amendment of the constitution and since then until now several historical decisions were given by the court.
The construction of the IHC new building on area of 30-canal would be completed in three years.
