KARACHI: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation on Friday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Governor House during his day-long visit to the port city.
Sources said that country’s political situation came under discussion during the meeting. The sources said that the MQM delegation comprised party’s parliamentary leader Dr Farooq Sattar, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Senator Babar Khan Ghori, Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Adil Siddiqui.
The prime minister visited Sindh Rangers headquarters and had a meeting with traders at the Governor House during his visit.
The premier pledged that ongoing drive against criminal elements would continue in Karachi as the city was the country’s commercial hub. He expressed resolve that his government could not be blackmailed over the Karachi operation.
