KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Saturday adjourned the hearing of Lyari gangster Arshad papu murder case due to non-production of PPP MNA Shahjahan Baloch allegedly involved in the murder case.
A CD of the footage showing some of the accused committing the crime was also submitted before the court.
Police brought five other accused, Zakir Dada, Zubair Baloch, Abdur Raheem, former police inspector Yousuf and Javed in an armored personnel carrier (APC) before ATC-II Judge under tight security.
However, accused PPP MNA Shahjahan Baloch was not present in the court. The court issued the last warning to the absent Shahjahan and asked him to be present during next hearing. Because of his absence, charge could not be framed.
The judge directed the court that case should be adjourned till November 30. ATC-II has already rejected the bail application of Shahjahan in this case.
The FIR was registered on the complaint of Arshad Pappu’s widow. Papu was tortured to death and his body thrown in a manhole in Kalakot locality of Karachi.
