PESHAWAR: Five accused involved in the firing incident that occurred in Kohat and left four persons dead were arrested, Geo News reported Tuesday.
According to police, five accused were apprehended while arms were also recovered from their possession including seven rifles, one machine gun and three pistols.
A case was also registered against the criminals under the ant terrorism act.
Inspector General Police has also instructed the concerned authorities to attain the CCTV footage of Kohat firing incident.
It is pertinent to mention that at least four people including two policemen were killed as two armed groups exchanged fire on Monday.
An angry mob set several shops ablaze following the armed clash. The situation in Kohat remained tense and troops were called in to maintain law and order.
City administration and police sealed the entry and exit points of the city, while residents were also directed to stay indoors.
Later, curfew was imposed in Kohat and Hangu.
Intermediate examinations were also cancelled for indefinite period in the wake of violence.
Deputy Commissioner Hangu hosted a Jirga that represented the two rivals groups to sign a deal. However, the sitting ended without any result and further talks were put off till 11:00 am Tuesday.
