Pervez Rashid dismisses Imran Khan’s allegations over drones
ISLAMABAD: Reacting to Imran Khan’s criticism of the federal government for its failure to stop US drone attacks in Pakistan’s tribal region, Information Minister Pervez Rashid said that the attacks started in the era of people standing around the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman.

Speaking to media, the ministers said that the attacks began in the stint of rulers who won support in referendum, an obvious reference to Khan’s support of military ruler Gen Pervez Musharraf in his disputed referendum. Though, Khan had later sought nation’s apology over his move.

He said that Nawaz Sharif had raised the issue of drone attacks at the United Nations since he wanted to improve relations with the international community while Khan was hell bent on spoiling the ties with the whole world.

Rashid said that Imran Khan bowed before those who abrogated the Constitution, Muhsraff in this case, while he was not ready to tolerate those who were elected by the people.
