Justice Nasir takes oath as new acting CEC

ISLAMABAD: Justice Nasirul Mulk took oath as new acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on Saturday, Geo News reported.

The oath was administrated by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at Supreme Court Lahore Registry at 11am today.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, on Friday, had appointed Justice Nasirul Mulk new acting CEC after the resignation of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani.

It is to mention that earlier acting CEC Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani had resigned from his position on Friday. The ECP, following the resignation of acting CEC Justice Jillani, had sent a summary to the chief justice to appoint new acting CEC.

Justice Jillani relinquished his charge of acting CEC as he is going to take charge as Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 12.
