ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Asif Wednesday hailing the Supreme Court verdict on LPG quota case said it upheld the law and constitution, adding that those who benefited from the scam would be taken to task, Geo News reported
Asif said the top elites of Pakistan, Generals and politicians are involved in this LPG quota multi-billion scam and caused losses to the exchequer. He said basic rules and regulations were intentionally set aside to benefit Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL).
It may be recalled that Khawaja Asif, while in opposition, had filed a petition against the auction of the LPG quota. The petitioner had made a plea that the auction of the LPG quota was not conducted in a transparent manner and had prayed for its annulment.
