ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah has written a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif calling for a fresh census to be conducted in Pakistan.
In the letter Shah said that conducting a fresh census for development programs was a constitutional requirement. Shah further said a fresh census was also required for the determination of assembly seats and to solve problems associated with a growing population.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had also written a letter to the government asking it to hold a fresh census by placing the matter before the Council of Common Interests.
