ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz has declared the presence of Indian troops on the Siachen glacier as a threat to the environment and called on India to resolve this issue on priority basis by withdrawing its forces.
Speaking to the media here, Aziz said the Siachen glacier was being damaged due to the presence of Indian troops.
Aziz said Indian forces were damaging the virgin snow of Siachen on a daily basis which is one of the largest sources of water to Pakistan.
The foreign affairs advisor added that the water issue was being discussed with India via various channels.
