ISLAMABAD: The federal government has requested the special court to initiate treason proceedings against former military ruler, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
The petition submitted by Interior Secretary Shahid Khan called for proceedings against Musharraf under the 1973 high treason act. According to the petition, Musharraf suspended the constitution and imposed emergency in the country.
The three member special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab will initiate treason proceedings against Musharraf.
