KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain says that the government wants to resolve issues with Taliban militants through dialogue, Geo News reported.
"Only if the talks fail then we will look into other options", said he issuing a statement here.
To a question he said that Karachi's business community was happy with the ongoing targeted crackdown on criminal elements especially extortionists.
"By the grace of Almighty Allah, Pakistan's economic powerhouse will soon thrive with renewed business activities as it is destined to become peaceful before long", the president said.
He disclosed that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was himself monitoring the Karachi operation.
"With the prime mister keeping tabs on it, the operation will hopefully bear fruit" the president added.
