QUETTA: The city is witnessing freezing temperatures as the mercury went crashing down to minus 11 degree centigrade on Sunday here, Geo News reported.
Sources said that the cold weather has turned Hanna Lake a picnic spot into a solid block of ice as the temperature in the capital of southwestern province of Balochistan went dropping to a record level at minus 11 Celsius hampering the normal routine life of citizens.
Besides, the minimum temperature in Kalat was recorded at minus 14 Celsius, Panjgur at 2.5 and Zhob minus 5, while the hottest town in the province Sibi’s temperature also went down to shivering 2 degree centigrade.
Meteorological Department said that the intensity cold weather in different parts of northern Balochistan would continue for the next 6/7 days, while in Quetta, Kalat and some other areas the temperature was likely to fall further in the next 2/3 days.
