LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has termed treason case against former president Gen (redt) Pervez Musharraf as unconstitutional, sheer injustice and oppression.
Speaking to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain by telephone, the MQM chief said that if the former military ruler was to be tried under treason, everybody who supported him whether they were army’s generals, judges or institutions should also be tried.
Hussain applauded Shujaat Hussain for his statement about Musharraf and said that other people should also shun hypocrisy and stood by truth. He said that Musharraf was being singled out, adding that “we should refrain from hatred, discrimination, and cruelty since these things led to dismemberment of Pakistan”
Chauhdry Shujaat Hussain agreed with MQM chief and said; “unfortunately prejudice and hatred have been prevailing in this country”.
