ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Wednesday said that some Taliban factions were opposing the peace process, Geo News reported.
"Those factions must grow out of their narrow-mindedness and reciprocate the positive gestures of both the government and the entire political leadership of Pakistan", said he while talking to media after meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) chief, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.
Maulana Fazl called on him at his office here on Wednesday.
The overall political and security situation of the country with particular reference to the efforts being carried out for the establishment of peace in tribal region came under discussion during the meeting.
The minister expressed that the government was sincerely resolved to bring about peace in the affected areas through dialogue with Taliban.
Maulana Fazl expressed his confidence in efforts of the government for the same.
