Doctors take blood samples of Musharraf for examination at AFIC
ISLAMABAD: Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf is under treatment at Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), Rawalpindi and doctors have conducted his different medical tests, Geo News reported.

Former president was rushed to hospital as he complained of chest pain on his way to appear before the special court hearing treason case against him.

The doctors conducted different tests and took blood samples of Musharraf. These samples have been sent for examination.

Sources said a special room has been made for the ex-president and no one is allowed to enter there except AFIC Commandant and Deputy Commandant. Even, medical staff is not permitted to enter alone.

Earlier, it was reported that Musharraf had left Chak Shahzad farmhouse to appear before the court. Ensuring strict security arrangements various roads were blocked while mobile services were also halted on the route.

Almost 1,600 personnel of the police and the rangers were deployed for the security of Pervez Musharraf.

Online News Agency adds:

ECG, blood test, ECHO and angiography and other tests of Musharraf were conducted at Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology where he is admitted in ICU.

Source said he was shifted to hospital in ‘bad shape’ and remained in unconscious state for hours.

Army has taken control of AFIC security and entry of common patients was banned.
