Treason Case: Musharraf granted exemption, medical certificate summoned
ISLAMABAD: The special court on Monday granted former president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf exemption from appearing in court for Monday and summoned medical certificate from Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) tomorrow, Geo News reported.

The three-member bench of the special court headed by Faisal Arab was hearing the treason case against Pervez Musharraf.

The special court passing a formal order granted Pervez Musharraf exemption from appearing in court for today and summoned the medical certificate from AFIC tomorrow.

Earlier during the hearing, Pervez Musharraf’s counsel Anwar Mansoor argued that there was no provision in the Criminal Special Act allowing arrest of his client.

Justice Faisal Arab interrupting asked him to first let the court know about Pervez Musharraf ‘s appearance in the court.

Anwar Mansoor said that he should first be allowed to complete his arguments, while the court insisted the counsel should come out with a clear statement whether Pervez Musharraf will appear today in the court or not.

Anwar Mansoor replied he had no meeting with Pervez Musharraf and perhaps he was not coming.
