KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Monday said putting entire blame of emergency/martial law on former president General (redt) Pervez Musharraf, in what he termed a bid to save his abettors, is not just a conspiracy against one individual but the whole country.
He said this while addressing via telephone the members of the MQM’s Rabitta Committee and the party’s other wings here Nine Zero, the party’s headquarters.
Hussain reiterated the call for initiating Musharraf’s treason trail from October 12, 1999 instead of November 3, 2007.
He termed the trial as a bid to divert attention from major challenges facing the country and the long-standing public-centered issues.
The MQM Chief said in order to forge unity and solidarity, rights will have to be given to the deprived lot of people besides putting and end to the injustices and excesses.
“Whether anyone believes it or not, Sindh 2 has become a reality,” he asserted. He, however, regretted that his call for the rights of the common man and his empowerment was being projected in a wrong shade.
