LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader and former deputy prime minister, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi Saturday feared that far from setting the history right, the Pakistan Muslim League-N might end up soiling it even more.
In a statement here, Pervez Elahi said his party has taken a principled stand on former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, who is facing a treason trial before a three-judge special tribunal set up for the purpose.
He said the treason trial against Pervez Musharraf will not result in any gains. “System is important, not the individuals,” he added.
Commenting on former president and Co-Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari, Pervez Elahi said he (Zardari) has emerged as a ‘better human being’.
