KASHMORE: In what could be termed as a botched-police-raid-led-tragedy, three women, belonging to the family of a proclaimed offender, jumped into River Indus along with five children to avoid ending up in custody –all of them are feared drowned, Geo News reported.
According to latest reports the body of one child was recovered from the choppy waters of mighty River Indus, whereas divers are yet busy searching for the others.
Sources told Geo News that the outlaw, the cops were after, was not at home at the time of the bust.
“The women feared the police would take them away and then use them as hostages to force the wanted criminal to surrender, so they preferred to drown then fall in the hands of police”, sources quoted a local as saying.
An investigation into this tragic incident has been launched.
