KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has taken notice of children's deaths due to malnutrition in Tharparkar and directed concerned Sindh provincial ministers to visit the district.
Another child died due to malnutrition at the Mithi Civil Hospital, raising the death toll to 17 over the past one week.
Currently at least 46 children are being provided treatment at the malnutrition ward of Mithi hospital.
Advisor to CM on Information, Maula Bux Chandio will visit Tharparkar to review the situation after Bilawal's orders. Provincial Health Secretary Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo had visited Thar two days ago.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had announced to double the budget of Civil Hospital Mithi two years ago after Sindh government was rigorously criticized following deaths due to malnutrition. However, the promises are yet to be fulfilled.
