SARGODHA: Three persons were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on a car carrying Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leader in Sargodha on Saturday morning, Geo News reported.
According to police, the incident occurred at Noori Gate in Sargodha when ASWJ Deputy Chief of Punjab chapter Maulana Abdul Hameed Khalid along with others was on his way from Bhakkar to attend the hearing at an anti-terrorism court in Sargodha.
Unidentified assailants ambushed the vehicle that killed three persons and critically injured two others including the ASWJ leader. The bodies and injured were shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital.
Police reached the spot and cordoned off the area to nab the culprits while investigation is still underway.
