KARACHI: Additional security arrangements have been made at Hyederabad and Karachi prisons in the wake of warnings about militant attacks on detention facilities of the two major cities of Sindh.
Mobile phone jammers have been installed in Karachi’s Central Prison to restrict contacts among terrorists with additional deployment of policemen in Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) on the University Road.
Roads leading to the jail have also been closed for vehicular traffic as part of the arrangements.
Similar security arrangements have been made for Hyderabad Jail in the light of intelligence reports about attacks. Almost 350 policemen including commandos have been deployed as part of the security arrangements.
