Cop injured as police mobile attacked near Hassan Square

KARACHI: A policeman was injured when unknown culprits hurled a hand grenade on a police mobile near Hassan Square area of Karachi on Friday morning, Geo News reported.

According to police, assailants riding motorbikes threw a hand grenade on a police van near Hassan Square today morning that injured one cop.

Aerial firing was also reported after the explosion, sources told.

Security forces and the bomb disposal squad reached the blast site immediately and cordoned off the area. Meanwhile, the rescue teams rushed the injured to the hospital.

Two suspected persons were also arrested from the site, police told.

It may be mentioned here that the city is already observing a complete wheel-jam and shutter-down strike today against Mufti Usman’s killing.
