QUETTA: Police said that an alleged accused died in the custody of the Civil Line police station, while the relatives of the deceased claimed police had tortured him to death on Saturday here, Geo News reported.
A senior police official said that Mohammad Naeem, a resident of Quetta wanted by the police in different cases was injured during a raid when he jumped over a wall in a bid to escape.
Later, with the cooperation of family members the injured accused was arrested. He was at first shifted to the Civil Hospital and then to the Combined Military Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
On the other hand, the deceased’s family blamed that Mohammad Naeem was tortured to death by the police and they would stage a strong protest against it.
