DUBAI: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan’s economic growth was encouraging and that tax collection had risen 26pc in January.
Addressing a press conference here Sunday, Ishaq Dar said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was fully satisfied with the performance of Pakistan.
Dar further said energy crisis persists in the country and that the load shedding was being carried out as per schedule. He said load shedding issues would improve with change in weather.
Power tariff was not raised for the consumers utilizing up to 200 units, he said and added that the government was providing Rs151 billion subsidy to various sectors.
The minister said government was taking steps to stop power theft in the country. He said power theft and leakage was 27pc.
