According to police, a suicide blast occurred outside a house at Jamil Chowk that killed four women while five others including four women and a child were also wounded.
The injured and deceased were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
Security forces cordoned off the area while bomb disposal squad was also called in.
Police have also arrested two alleged terrorists from the site, sources told.
