ISLAMABAD: Talks between the government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are in limbo after the militant organization killed as many as 23 personnel of the Frontier Crops (FC).
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the slaughter of FC men and said that incidents like such barbaric killings are casting a negative impact on talks process.
He said that the government initiated the process with sincerity and seriousness in the light of decision of the All Parties Conference (APC). But, he said the process was sabotaged rightly after it reached an encouraging point.
Irfan Siddiqui, coordinator for the government committee, said that the panel will review on Tuesday the progress into the talk process made since January 21. Siddiqui, who called on prime minister along with Major (retd) Amir, told Geo News that the prime minister was saddened by the killing of FC personnel.
