Sindh govt responsible for Tharparkar situation: CJP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has held Sindh government responsible for deteriorating situation in the Tharparkar, Geo News reported.

The chief justice was hearing suo moto notice case of the deaths of over 100 children in Tharparkar due to malnutrition.

The court has sought a detailed report from Sindh government about total number of deaths due to drought.

The court expressed its anger over the negligence of Sindh government.

While defending the Sindh government, the Advocate General Sindh told the court that situation is not as worse as media is reporting, however, he admitted there was negligence.

When the court asked about the deaths of children on Sunday, the chief secretary and the advocate general Sindh were unaware of it.

The court directed the authorities concerned to present report in the SC about those who were responsible for such situation in Tharparkar.

SC adjourned the hearing till March 17.
