Special Court likely to indict Pervez Musharraf today
ISLAMABAD: The special court conducting trial of former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf is expected to indict the accused for high treason today.

A three-member Special Court headed by Justice Faisal Arab and comprising Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali on Thursday upheld its order to produce the accused Pervez Musharraf before on Friday.

Justice Fisal Arab ruled that the order pertaining to production of the accused today (Friday) remained intact.

On his appearance before the court, Pervez Musharraf will be indicted in the high treason case for abrogating the Constitution while issuing proclamation of emergency on November 3, 2007.

Meanwhile, in pursuance of the court’s earlier order to Ministry of Interior for ensuring adequate security measures for the production of the accused before it, the heads of law enforcing agencies on Thursday chalked out a comprehensive security plan on the eve of Pervez Musharraf’s appearance before the court today (Friday).

It was learnt that the Islamabad Police and other law enforcing agencies in their respective meetings had finalised security plan for the former president. Sources said that over 2,000 police personnel and over 500 Rangers would be deployed en route to the court premises.
