New security plan for Islamabad to come into force Apr 15: Chaudhry Nisar
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Sunday said a new operational strategy aimed at stepping up security of the capital city of Islamabad would be put into force from April 15.

Addressing a high-level meeting here, the Interior Minister said a joint patrolling by police and Rangers of the city was being introduced while additional security responsibilities were being assigned to the paramilitary force.

He further said that the Islamabad police would be trained under the standards of Elite Force and well-trained retired military officials would be inducted for the purpose.

Chaddhry Nisar directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to improve performance and initiate stern action against officials and staff involved in the crime of human trafficking.

He also ordered for the identification and arrest of Islamabad police officials and personnel having links with criminal elements.
