Sindh towns in grip of tension, strike for 2nd day
NAUSHEHROFEROZE: Sindh continues mourning yesterday’s mysterious death of Jaey Sindh Qaumi Mahaz leader Maqsood Quraishi and his companion, while the situation in different towns/cities of the restive province still remains tense and shutter down strike being observed for the second day on Saturday, Geo News reported.

Complete shutter down strike is being observed at Moro, Bhirya Road, Mehrabpur, Padidan and other towns in the district here, following yesterday’s tragic incident.
Rangers have been deployed at Padidan due to prevailing tense situation.

Shops and business centres are also closed in Larkana, Ratodero, Shahdadkot and other towns of the province, while police Rangers’ patrolling has been beefed up to avert any untoward incident.

Life in Nawabshah, Dadu, Jacobabad, and Kashmore also remains standstill, as traffic goes off the roads due to continued strike for the second day.

Mehran University and Liaquat University in Jamshoro have postponed the scheduled examinations today, while the students also observing strike.

It may be recalled that JSQM Maqsood Ahmed Qureshi, the brother of the late former JSQM chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi, was found dead in mysterious circumstances at Bhirya Road, Nausharoferoz, on Friday.
