Imran joins hands with federal govt against polio
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that he has kept all political differences aside and joined hands with the federal government to save children battling polio.

Khan said that the provincial government, army and the federal government were jointly conducting ‘Sehat ka Ittehad’ program in the region, a health drive aiming to eradicate the polio virus that has destroyed the lives of children.

He went on to say that Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehtab Abbasi has also dedicated his full support as well as international organisations such as United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Bill Gates Foundation, World Health Organisation (WHO), and the UAE government have also contributed their support.

The PTI chairman further said that children residing at the border were not vaccinated and since the province had accommodated 2.2 million temporarily dislocated persons (TDPs), 0.3 million out which were children; majority of the children were not immunised.
