LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal said Saturday that the treason case of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has no link with the army.
“General Musharraf is a politician and head of APML. He should not risk the integrity of the Pakistan army for his politics,” Iqbal told reporters in Lahore.
The PML-N leader was critical of the role being played by Musharraf’s team in the treason trial. “Unfortunately Musharraf’s entire team is trying to make this case into the army’s case.”
Ahsan Iqbal’s statements regarding the treason trial of Pervez Musharraf follow those of other PML-N leaders Khawaja Asif and Saad Rafique.
