NAWABSHAH: A woman was among two people killed and 15 injured as the engine and four bogies of the Karokaram Express derailed near Bandhi railway station on Wednesday morning.
Sources said that the Karokaram Express was travelling to Karachi from Faisalabad when the accident took place at around 6AM.
The local people on self-help basis rescued the passengers from the overturned bogies, especially from bogey no.1 which was badly damaged. The injured were shifted to Bandhi and Daur hospitals.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Irfan Kathia said that emergency has been declared in the Nawabshah People’s Medical Hospital besides Daur and Bandhi hospitals.
